LoTR TMG – The Future of Organized Play and the Website12/2/2005
With the release of the Return of the King set we’ve been receiving a number of e-mails and PMs asking a number of questions. These include how long support will continue, whether or not the forums and website will remain, and a number of other issues relating to the LoTR TMG. In order to address your queries and questions please find below the official state of play for Organized Play and the LotR section of the Sabertooth website.

Over the last few months our supplies of promotional figures from all the expansions have been dwindling, and we are very close to running out. To make things simple, the December Organized Play kits that have been registered will contain an increased supply of PR figures for the scouts to give out to their player-base by way of a thank you from Sabertooth Games to those players still playing the TMG. This will officially mark the end of Organized Play support from us here at Sabertooth. From January 1, 2006 scouts will no longer be able to register for The Lord of the Rings events.

Also from January 1, 2006 redemption for the TMG will also be coming to a close. All redemption orders received on or before December 31, 2005 will be honored (to the best of our ability) and sent out to you as soon as possible. Redemption orders received after this date will not be processed.

As you are all aware now we did not produce any promotional figures for the Return of the King expansion, however, the promo figures that were planned had been designed and play tested. We have the raw data and will be formatting the files into a readable document and posting them as soon as possible. Please note that these are not the actual figures and we suggest converting unwanted duplicates to accommodate these promotional figures data.

On March 1, 2006, we will be closing the Lord of the Rings section of our website. All articles will be unavailable after this point so please make sure you download any that you’ll need in the future. This date will also see the closure of the LoTR forums.

Whilst the game is coming to a close, we’d like to thank all of the players for their support over the years. We’ve enjoyed producing the game and hope that you’ve enjoyed playing, and will continue to do so. By way of a final hurrah, in conjunction with the posting of The Return of the King promo stats we will also be posting the finished, complete stats for Shelob and the Sam figure that was to accompany her. Again, I know the resourceful ones out there will find a way to make your own Shelob figure, and this will give you the rules to use her in your future battles.

TMG News Update6/15/2005
The Lord of the Rings Tradeable Miniatures Game (TMG) has captured the imagination of fans around the world with its fantastically sculpted, high-quality figures coupled with its innovative and exciting game play. Fans have experienced the breathtaking action first seen in The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers and have then gone on to create other exciting scenarios where the forces of good battle against the minions of evil in Middle-earth.

Fans have a lot to look forward to from our very exciting remaining schedule of releases in the upcoming months, as we complete our releases for the game with close to 100 new figures! These include the awesome Nazgul on Fellbeast for which one in four will come with a limited edition Witch King figure (August 2005), the mighty Mordor Trolls (September 2005) our final and perhaps most exciting, The Return of the King booster launch (November 2005)! Beyond these great new releases we will be continuing organized play support for The Lord of the Rings for the foreseeable future.

The Lord of the Rings Tradeable Miniatures Game has had a very good run of releases, telling the complete epic saga as the three massively successful New Line Cinema movies have played out and become milestones in movie history - and we are very proud of the models we have produced alongside the films. Whilst in the next six months or so we are releasing the last of our product lines for this range, We expect and hope that fans will continue to enjoy the game, fighting countless battles in Middle-earth for many years to come.

Meanwhile, here at Sabertooth Games We have several new products coming up on the horizon that we are also extremely excited about. First of all, in October there is the new base set for the Warhammer 40,000 Collectible Card Game (CCG) - Dark Millennium - which brings the game back to the current timeline. Shortly after that we have the new base set for the WarCry CCG - War of Attrition - coming in January 2006. WarCry celebrated its two year anniversary in March and continues to be a growing success for Sabertooth Games! Finally, watch this space as we will be debuting a brand new CCG in April 2006 that will blow you away!
