Boromir has the awesome Battle Cry ability, giving all of your minions in his combat +1 attacks, so he should lead the Gondorian Warriors into the main fray. Eowyn is no slouch either, with Aggressive Strategy, the ability that lets you re-roll any number of your damage dice in her combat.
You might be tempted to bunch them all up in one big unit, but Eowyn is best used with a smaller detachment of warriors to maximize her Berserk ability. This ability gives her +1 attack for each enemy warrior in an adjacent hex, so she is best in the thick of things!
The Warriors of Rohan have the Bodyguard ability, which is one of the most overlooked in the game. This ability keeps your enemy from assigning damage dice to your heroes in their combat! Keep one with Boromir and one with Eowyn, and you shouldn&rsqo;t have too much trouble keeping them alive.
Lastly, you have the Guard of the Fountain Court, the least-expensive spearman for the forces of good. They have a low toughness, so try to keep them out of combat, but their Spear ability makes up for it. A risk-free attack is always good!
Your biggest threat with this army is probably ranged attack, as you lack any to retaliate with. Send Eowyn with a 2-3 Gondorian Warriors and her bodyguard to deal with them, and try to use the terrain to maximum advantage.
There you have it! A standard, 1000 point army. Now go forth and conquer!
